陳詠清，1989 年生於台北， 一個錄影帶與漫畫店仍然蓬勃的年代。
她的童年是一幕幕影像的拼貼。七點的娛樂新聞、三台的八點檔、晚上十點的日劇，還有那些在漫畫店翻過的《蠟筆小新》、《火影忍者》，在書店找到的《牧羊少年奇幻之旅》，在唱片行買下的張惠妹、Eminem CD……
自 薇閣中小學 畢業後，她前往英國 TASIS（The American School in England） 就讀，九年級時住在「牧羊人的家」宿舍，在寄宿學校裡度過四年與電影、劇場為伴的生活。她熱愛的書籍是《麥田捕手》，戲劇則是莎士比亞的《馬克白》。某天，在文化與價值課上，她看見 伯格曼 的《第七封印》，那是她第一次意識到電影不只是故事，而是一種哲思，一種觀看世界的方式。
大學就讀 美國密西根州立大學（Michigan State University），主修媒體藝術與科技，輔修電影研究，後赴 加州帕薩迪納藝術中心設計學院（Art Center College of Design） 取得電影碩士學位。在學期間，她開始探索 夢境、小人物與奇幻超現實，透過色彩、鏡頭語言與剪輯組構影像敘事，尋找自己的風格。
她的短片集入圍並獲得多項國際影展獎項，包括 奧斯卡認證影展 愛爾蘭科克國際影展，以及 臺灣嘉義市國際三分鐘影片大賽、巴厘島國際電影節、美國歐申賽德國際影展、日本東京類型慶典國際影展 等。
2024 年，她的實驗短片 《獨自一人》入選美國 Millennium Film Journal 的MicroCinemaMonday放映單元，並完成首部劇情長片 《女孩白日夢》，獲得 瑞典呂勒奧國際電影節最佳首部長片、最佳導演獎，以及 美國卡爾弗城電影節最佳劇情長片獎 等國際肯定。
除了電影，她熱愛 攝影、數位拼貼、實驗短片與散文寫作。

Eva Chen was born in Taipei in 1989, a time when video rental stores and manga shops were still thriving.
Her childhood was a collage of moving images: 7 p.m. entertainment news, prime-time television dramas on Taiwan’s three major networks, late-night Japanese series, manga like Crayon Shin-chan and Naruto browsed at local shops, The Alchemist discovered in a bookstore, and CDs by A-Mei and Eminem bought from music stores. These fragments later became the seeds of her creative universe.
After graduating from Wego Elementary and Middle School, she attended The American School in England (TASIS). During her freshman year, she lived in a dormitory called “The Shepherd’s House” and spent the next four years immersed in a life shaped by film and theater. She developed a love for The Catcher in the Rye and Shakespeare’s Macbeth. One day in a cultural studies class, she watched Ingmar Bergman’s The Seventh Seal and realized that cinema could be more than storytelling. It could be a kind of philosophy, a way of seeing the world.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts and Technology with a minor in Film Studies from Michigan State University, then earned her Master of Fine Arts in Film at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California. During her studies, she began to explore themes of dreams, ordinary characters, and surreal fantasy, using color, composition, and editing to shape her visual storytelling.
Her short films have been selected and awarded by international festivals including the Oscar-qualifying Cork International Film Festival in Ireland, the Chiayi City International Three-Minute Film Festival in Taiwan, the Bali International Film Festival, the Oceanside International Film Festival in the United States, and the Tokyo Genre Celebration Film Festival in Japan.
In 2024, her experimental short Man Alone was featured in the MicroCinemaMonday screening program of Millennium Film Journal in the United States. That same year, she completed her debut feature film I’m Still Kind of a Daydreamer, which won Best First Feature and Best Director at the Luleå International Film Festival in Sweden, and Best Narrative Feature at the Culver City Film Festival in the United States, along with other international recognition.
In addition to filmmaking, she is passionate about photography, digital collage, experimental short films, and writing prose and poetry.
